In 2014, four new metro stations in Tysons opened on Dulles Metrorail’s “Silver Line.” The future vision for Tysons, the new downtown of Fairfax County, VA is that of a high-density city with dynamic walkable streets, an iconic skyline and quality public spaces. Out of approximately 25 total development applications within Tysons, LandDesign has been engaged in the the planning and design of fourteen (14) mixed-use TOD sites, each with unique district character requirements. Additionally LandDesign has prepared concepts for each of the two major stream valley parks in Tysons, participated in advisory committees for the Tysons Partnership (similar to a BID), the Tysons Parks Advisory Group and the Tysons Silver Line Under/Rail Charrette called “Art + Place: Beneath the Spans” and designed the first “pop-up” park constructed in Tysons.
