Cabarrus County’s Central Area Plan is a precedent-setting, collaborative project that emphasizes the relationship between infrastructure planning and growth patterns over a 39,000+ acre region. As a result of an innovative community engagement program, the plan establishes a vision to guide future growth and development in the study area, sets standards for achieving quality growth, and establishes a framework for consistent land use planning and growth management across three jurisdictions.
