Wesley Village is a 21-acre, mixed-use brownfield development located in the Freedom Drive Redevelopment Corridor near Uptown Charlotte. This project includes 300 multi-family units and 20,000 square feet of retail, representing a new beginning for redevelopment along a declining commercial corridor. The development program also includes a trail connection to the adjacent Stewart Creek Greenway as well as high-end amenities such as a clubhouse, pool, outdoor fireplace, and kitchen. In order to create safe vehicular access to the site, the City of Charlotte used Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for adjacent public road improvements to Freedom Drive and Thrift Road.
