LandDesign executed design, permitting, and construction of this urban residential infill development. The project location was the former site of a public housing development and public park, in addition to facilities and parking associated with the adjacent, remaining community recreation center, all owned by the Charlotte Housing Authority (CHA). As a result, extensive coordination with CHA was necessary. Relocation of city storm drainage facilities and the design of underground detention were additional complexities. Project features include a luxurious pool amenity, complete with views of the skyline, marble tilework, an outdoor fireplace, and grilling facilities. The site also includes a linear garden, which spans the block and provides seat walls, trellis structures, bench seating, and two fountains for the enjoyment of the residents.
