“LandDesign worked with Mathews Architecture to design the Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Center, a new recreation center for creative arts at the former Livingston Park. The site program includes a 30,000-square foot community center with theater, outdoor market, community gardens, streetscape, sidewalks, and greenways. LandDesign provided master planning for the 9-acre site along with full landscape architecture and civil engineering design services for Phase 1 construction documents including LEED documentation.

Phase 1 includes 2 acres of the site encompassing an 8000 square foot auditorium and classrooms, native plants landscape, visitor access and parking. This is the City’s first facility to achieve LEED Certification. The goal was LEED Gold, but due to the team’s commitment to achieve the best sustainable solutions, this is the City’s first facility to achieve LEED Platinum.”
