Joining LandDesign in 2006, Stephanie Pankiewicz is a Principal and Landscape Architect. Based in Asheville, she is responsible for directing the work of that office's landscape architecture studio.

Prior to LandDesign, Ms. Pankiewicz worked as a landscape architect in Southern California on several award-winning master planned communities.  Her nine years of experience include park planning and design, community master plans, site planning, design guidelines, and streetscapes, with an emphasis on utilizing green techniques such as best practices for steep slope/mountain development, fire-wise fuel modification planting design, storm water harvesting, roof gardens, stream restoration, native plant use, and natural treatment systems for bio-retention.

An NCI-certified charrette planner, Ms. Pankiewicz leads public projects with a community participation process such as main street, land use, and corridor plans. Among the projects in Ms. Pankiewicz' portfolio are Camp Lake James an AIA NC award-winning private recreation center, and the Mauldin Main Street Plan which consisted of public participation, traffic analysis, land use studies, streetscape concepts, and market analysis recommendations for five miles of South Carolina's Hwy 276 corridor.

Ms. Pankiewicz earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia and is a registered landscape architect in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and California. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Landscape Architects and Urban Land Institute. Ms. Pankiewicz is very active in the Asheville community, recently serving on the city's I-26 Technical Review Committee, Downtown Master Plan Advisory Committee and Greenway Commission as well as the Advisory Council for the non-profit Asheville Design Center.
